Dose-dependent effects of testosterone on feeding and body weight in male rats

The effects of testosterone propionate (TP) on food intake and body weight were
investigated using adult male Sprague-Dawley rats. Daily injections of a high (1 mg) or a low
(0.2 mg) dose of TP were administered for 8 weeks beginning immediately after castration.
Both doses of TP reduced body weight gain during the first 4 weeks of treatment, but long-
