To test the hypothesis that wheelchair dependency and (kypho-) scoliosis are risk factors for
developing respiratory insufficiency in facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, we
examined 81 patients with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy 1 of varying degrees of
